Woodlands: Summer Reading Challenge Champions (again!)
We were thrilled to welcome Rob from Formby Library to present us with the Summer Reading Challenge trophy for the second year in succession!
It was wonderful to see just how many children in Woodlands rose to the challenge of reading 6 books over the summer holidays. Rob presented over 60 certificates to the particiipants from our school - that's more than 3600 books read over the holidays in total - brilliant.
Thank you to everyone at home who suported their children with the challenge - we know reading is so important not just educationally but developing children as people too. Avid readers are able to time travel, visit different worlds, battle fearsome dragons, see attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion or simply put themselves in the shoes of someone else.
Thanks again to Rob & all the staff at Formby Library for, once again, brnging the summer reading challenge to life & helping our young people develop as readers.
