Summer Newsletter 9 [Friday 23rd June]

Dear Parents & Carers

With only three and a half weeks of school to go and children, staff, FOWSA and School’s Out are very busy preparing the activities for the end of term – I can’t believe there is so little time left!

Y1 &Y2 had a fantastic visit to St. Luke’s Church this week.  They were met by the vicar Matt Davies, who talked to them about the church and the children asked lots of relevant questions.   They explored the outside and looked at the oldest thing in Formby, which is a stone! They had a wonderful trip and arrived back just in time for lunch.

On Tuesday we had class photographs. Children arrived at school looking very smart and coiffured and they produced their best smiles for the camera. The morning went without a hitch which is testament to all the planning and preparations beforehand by Mrs Jennings, one of our governors who does a fantastic job every year. Thank you for all your help Mrs Jennings.

Over the past two and a half days our Year 6 children have had tremendous fun on their residential trip to PGL and I am sure some of you will hear all about it later tonight.

Here are the nudges for this week…

This week, our whole school attendance is 96.1%, just short of our 97% target. We had 6 class which bettered 97% attendance: Red class (99.1%), Yellow class (98.2%), Green Class (97.3), 3/4M (98%), 4T (97.5%) and 5/6P (98.8%).

Unfortunately, we only had 3 classes who had no late marks this week (Red Class, Blue Class & Green Class). We’ve had 34 late marks across the whole school. 30 late marks ‘before the register closed’ – that’s before 9.20am & 4 late marks ‘after the register has closed’, that’s after 9.20am.

Have a lovely weekend.
