Summer Newsletter 7 [Friday 9th June]
Dear Parents & Carers
Our Y5 children spent a wonderful day at Range High School on Tuesday taking part in a cultural arts day. Two of the children, Claudia & Will, wrote the following:
Our trip to Range!
We had the option of choosing art and music, dance or drama.
In art and music, we constructed Greek masks in the morning by using cardboard and other raw materials, as well as paint to finish it off. We listened to traditional Greek music and then learnt to play on the modern ukulele.
Then in dance we got to make parts of it up for ourselves and put it together to make a performance to share with everybody. We also got to do some acting in our dance and co-operate with each other.
Finally, in drama we were each given a script to learn and we were allowed to choose our roles and made an educational show about the history of the Greek play.
We really enjoyed the different activities that were given to each of us to suit us best. A very big thank you to Range High School and their staff, particularly Mrs Fox, for making it possible. We all hope that we can visit again soon to create some more great memories.

We’ve received a request from the organiser of the Show Tent, Debby Rigby, at Formby Festival to share the following information with you:
FORMBY FESTIVAL 2023 will be held in Duke Street Park on 14th, 15th and 16th July.
There are a number of children’s competitions including cakes and cookies, miniature gardens and flower arrangements.
Last year the most popular category was the fruit and vegetable person competition!
It would be greatly appreciated if you could advertise the competitions in school and on your newsletter.
School staff and parents are most welcome to enter the 18+ categories - we never get many adult entries, so the likelihood of winning is extremely high!!!!
