Summer Newsletter 4 [Friday 12th May]
Dear Parents & Carers
“Please put down your pencils, the test is over.” As these words were uttered at the end of the final Y6 SATs paper, an audible sigh of relief could be heard – that was just from the teachers! The children coped admirably with ‘SATs Week’: they approached each day calmly & confidently, showing a great deal of resilience & persistence (especially with the reading paper!). Well done Y6 – staff at Woodlands are proud of those of you who have tried your best this week & throughout the year.
Congratulations to our Y1 football team who represented Woodlands superbly in the School Games Y1 EFC Tournament held at Stanley High School, Southport. The children played with great skill & determination & managed to come away with a bronze medal (they just missed out on second place on goals scored). They played brilliantly as a team & showed good respect to the opposition players whether they had won, lost or drawn. Thank you to Miss Morgan for managing the team so successfully – maybe we’ve got another Sean Dyche, Emma Hayes or Jürgen Klopp in our midst…

This week, our whole school attendance is 94.5%. We had no classes with 100% attendance this week & 3 classes reaching or exceeding our 97% target: Yellow Class (97.8%), 3/4M (97.9%) & 6R (9738%).
We had had 3 classes who had no late marks this week: 3G, 3/4M, 5D & 5/6P. We had 14 late marks across the whole school which a great improvement. 12 late marks were ‘before the register closed’ (that’s before 9.20am) & 2 late marks ‘after the register has closed’, that’s after 9.20am.
I have attached the Spring newsletter from the National Trust in Formby.
I hope you have a marvellous weekend.
