Summer Newsletter 10 [Friday 12th July]

Dear Parents & Carers

We’ve had Circus Sensible in school today delivering circus skill workshops to all the children from nursery to Y6. What a fabulous time everyone had! Juggling clubs, walking wheels, plate spinning, stilt walking, flower stick juggling, hoola-hooping, static unicycling – the children had a great time honing their skills. We’re all really looking forward to Circus Sensible’s performances tomorrow – we hope to see you there.

Our Y2 pupils produced a couple of brilliant performances of Rock Pool this week – one for the pupils & the other for parents & carers. I was lucky enough to be at the parents & carers show. I can honestly say that I have not seen a better Y2 end of year show in all my 17 years at Woodlands. The children were magnificent: wonderful singing; delightful dancing; funny jokes. Luckily, spoiler alert, Crabbie got home in the end & teamed up with the Starfish Band becoming a guitar hero in the process. I’d like to thank all the parents & carers who helped assemble the children’s costumes – they looked fantastic!

Here’s the final ‘nudges’ of the 2023-2024 season…

We’ve got a couple of Y6 events next week: WOODfest IV on Tuesday 6th July & their leavers disco with DJ Alex on Wednesday 17th July.

Don’t forget, school finishes for the summer break at 2pm next Friday (19th July) – we’d hate your child to have to spend the summer in the lost property storeroom! School reopens for children on Wednesday 4th September

I hope you all have a maravilloso weekend.

Last word revisited

My partner just left me because they think I’m obsessed with football.

I’m a bit gutted about it – we’d been together for 3 seasons…
