Spring Newsletter 7 [Friday 1st March]

Dear Parents & Carers

Next week, on Thursday 7th March, it’s World Book Day. As part of our celebrations, we will be holding The Great Book Swap. This is the second time we’ve held the swap so I suppose that means it’s become a tradition. You should have received a message via School Spider, outlining how your children can take part (I’ve attached a flyer to this newsletter).

I’d like to congratulate our school hockey team who took part in a tournament at Formby Hockey Club yesterday. They showed high levels of skill, excellent teamwork & had a great time too They also picked up silver medal for their efforts – only losing to a single goal scored in extra time of the final. Thank you to Miss Dollery for getting the children involved.

Here’s the ‘nudges’ to find out about your child’s learning this week…

We only had 2 classes who had no late marks this week: 3G Class & 5/6P. We had 30 late marks across the whole school. 29 late mark were ‘before the register closed’ – that’s before 9.20am & 1 late mark ‘after the register has closed’, that’s after 9.20am.

We’re holding our nursery parents evenings next week for our N2 children – those pupils who will be starting reception in September 2024.

  • Thursday 7th March 12.30 - 5.00pm [Mrs Riding]

Please keep an eye out for a separate School Spider message from Woodlands governors with information about staffing at Woodlands & an update about the process of appointing a new headteacher.

We’re looking forward to seeing our Y6 parents & carers at Come Dine with Me next week (Thursday 7th March). Please arrive at the school office at 11:20 – you need to have booked a place & paid.
