Spring Newsletter 6 [Friday 10th February]
Dear Parents & Carers
Sorry for the lack of communication from school over the past few of days. Our website & messaging app crashed; this was a more widespread issue than just with Woodlands – our IT elves were running around frantically, losing their heads whilst blaming everyone else. I’m not even sure when I’ll be able to send this newsletter…
I’d like to congratulate our swimming squad who, on Thursday, represented Woodlands at the Formby Swimming Gala held at Crosby Baths. They were brilliantly behaved throughout & were so supportive of each other – they came back to school with a clutch of medals too! Thank you to Miss Pickford & Mrs Hughes for making sure the children had the chance to take part in the gala.
I’d like to thank everyone who came along to our parents evenings this week. We know our children will achieve their best, both in terms of their academic studies & behaviour, when parents & school work in tandem.
This week’s ‘nudges’ to help you start conversations about your children’s learning are as follows…

This week, our whole school attendance is 93.8%. We had no classes with 100% attendance this week & one class reaching or exceeding our 97% target: Yellow Class (97.2%).
We had only had 2 classes who had no late marks this week: 3G & 5/6P. We had 48 late marks across the whole school. 36 late marks were ‘before the register closed’ (that’s before 9.20am) & 12 late marks ‘after the register has closed’, that’s after 9.20am.
I would like to remind you that, unless an agreement is reached between the union & the government, the next National Education Union strike day is planned for Tuesday 28th February. I will be contacting you after half term as to which classes will be affected.
I hope you all have a good break over half term.
