This week, our whole school attendance is 96.6% - just below our 97% target. We have 0 classes with 100% attendance & we have 4 classes equalling or bettering 97%: Yellow Class (97.2%), 3G (99.6%), 4W (97.0%) & 5/6P (98.1%).
We had only 2 classes who had no late marks this week: Red Class & 5/6P. We had 41 late mark across the whole school. 38 late mark were ‘before the register closed’ – that’s before 9.20am & 3 late marks ‘after the register has closed’, that’s after 9.20am.
Holly the Chef, & her wonderful team in the kitchen, are looking forward to welcoming parents from Year 3 to Come Dine with Me next Wednesday. It’s great to see so many people signed up to join for lunch – I look forward to seeing you.
Every time a pupil achieves TT Rock Stars Rock Hero status, we induct them into Woodlands Rock Hero Hall of Fame. Rock Heroes are pupils that can complete ten ‘Studio’ TT Rock Star games, based on multiplication & division facts from 1x1 to 12x12, in an average time of less than 1 second per question. We celebrate their achievement in our Star of the Week assembly on a Friday afternoon; they are presented with a Rock Hero badge & sign one of the electric guitars from our TT Rock Stars display. Each time pupils are inducted into the Woodlands Rock Hero Hall of Fame a different member of staff chooses a ‘rock’ song to play. I thought you may be interested in the most recent choices…

It’s the FOWSA discos tonight. I’d like to thank all the members of FOWSA for the time & effort they put in to organising events for our children & families, it’s greatly appreciated by all of us at Woodlands. We’d be lost (& a lot poorer) without them. Don’t forget, being a parent at Woodlands, means you are automatically a member of FOWSA; there’s no strange initiation ceremony – you don’t have to stand on one leg, give a funny handshake or swear loyalty to some supposed higher-being. We are lucky to have an intrepid band of core members that organise the events - people are always welcome to join this group. However, what we are really short of is volunteers to help run the events. So please if you can give an hour or two of your time, FOWSA will be able to continue arranging a range of events for you children.
I hope you all have a good weekend. Me? I’m going to find a quiet corner to have a little cry…
