Spring Newsletter 11 [Friday 17th March]
Dear Parents & Carers
Thank you for supporting Red Nose Day. We have currently raised £704.86 which is wonderful; this money will help Comic Relief to support families both at home & abroad. The joke competition went down a storm in each class & we got to hear the teachers’ favourites in our Star of The Week assembly this afternoon – it was just like Live at the Apollo! Hopefully, I’ll be able to use a few of them at the end of my newsletter over the coming weeks. I’d also like to thank our House Captains for doing such a grand job of organising this event.
Here’s this week’s conversation ‘nudges’ to help you find about your children’s learning…

Next week, we are holding a Y6 SATs preparation evening for parents & carers on Tuesday 21 March at 5pm. In May 2023, Y6 pupils will be sitting the Y6 SATs in EGPS (English, Grammar, Punctuation & Spelling), Reading & Maths (Papers 1, 2 & 3). During the meeting, our Y6 teachers, Miss Pickford & Mrs Rimmer, will explain how parents & carers can best help their children prepare for the SATs, how the week is timetabled & exactly what is involved with each paper.
On the 30 March, we’re hosting 2 events for parents to come into school to work alongside their children for a wee while to make Easter baskets:
- Y1&2 [Green, Purple & Yellow classes] at 9.00am until 10:00am
- Reception [Red & Blue classes] at 2.30pm until 3.10pm
I’d like to remind you that we finish for the Easter break on Friday 31st March at 2pm.
I hope you have a great weekend
