Autumn Newsletter 16
Dear Parents & Carers
We made it!
Firstly, I’d like to thank all the children for their hard work over this term; as ever, they’ve been a credit to themselves & their families. They deserve a well-earned rest over the next couple of weeks… but please make sure they keep reading over the holidays!
I would also like to thank our parents & carers for all their support during the autumn term - this has been much appreciated. The staff at Woodlands are grateful for all the kind words & understanding you have shown during these ever-changing times. As I’ve said many times before, the partnership between home and school is vital and we know that when this is strong our children will thrive.
My final ‘thank you’ is reserved for the staff at Woodlands. I am so lucky to have such wonderful human beings working in school. From our teachers & TAs to our LWAs (dinner ladies), from our office staff to Mr Inskip (site manager), from our cleaners to our cooks in the kitchen – they have all been magnificent.
As things currently stand, school begins for the pupils on Thursday 6th January 2022 at 08:45 (staff have an INSET day on 5th January). Recently, here has been a lot speculation in the press about what will be happening in January 2022. We have not had any word from the Department for Education about this, if & when we do, we will pass this on to you as soon as possible.
Y1 parents can access a video of ‘A Midwife Crisis’ through their child’s Google Classroom account. Today, reception parents should have received an invite to watch ‘The Greatest Snowman’ via a link to Google Classroom.
I hope you all manage to have a good Christmas with friends & family.
See you in 2022!
KD Williams
