Christmas is now in full swing at Woodlands! Y1 performed The Twinkly Nativity & Reception staged Gnome Alone; both performances were given to halls packed with parents & grandparents. Each year group had held dress rehearsals earlier in the week so that the rest of the school could see these wonderful productions. The junior choir visited St. Joseph’s care home & sang a selection of Christmas favourites to the residents – this is truly one of the most special events of the year - the children sang beautifully too. Our nursery children took part in their Christmas Extravaganza today – it was lovely to see so many parents & family members there to see them perform some beautiful songs. We’ve had Christmas parties for reception, Y1&2 & Y3&4 too.

This week, our whole school attendance has dropped to 94.6% - below our target of 97%. We have 0 classes with 100% attendance & we only have 2 classes equalling or bettering 97%: Red Class (98.3%) & Green Class (97.6%).

We had 1 class who had no late marks this week: 5/6P. We had 46 late mark across the whole school. 46 late mark were ‘before the register closed’ – that’s before 9.20am & 0 late marks ‘after the register has closed’, that’s after 9.20am.

 

Next week’s festive events are as follows:

Saturday 16th December

4.30pm Junior Choir performing ‘A Christmas Concert’ with Crosby Symphony Orchestra at St. Faith’s Church, Crosby (this is going to be a real festive treat)

 

Monday 18th December

1.15pm: The Nativity (A Formby ‘Churches Together’ production performed for the children – year groups to be finalised)

 

Tuesday 19th December

Lunchtime: Christmas dinner, if ordered, for the whole school (apart from Nursery Class) Don’t forget to wear your Santa hat, decorate your lunchbox or even bring a cracker to pull [as usual, five house points per sprout eaten!].

 

Wednesday 20th December

9.00am: Y3/4 Christmas Singalong [Y3&4 parents/family members are invited to come along & join in] #bubléfreechristmas

1.00pm: Y4 @Range High School The Jolly Christmas Show

1.30pm: Y5/6 Christmas disco with DJ Alex [get on your dancing shoes!]

 

Thursday 21st December

2pm: Break for Christmas holiday [pupils return to school on Monday 8th January 2024]
