Autumn Newsletter 10 [Friday 17th November]
Dear Parents & Carers
I’m pleased to say that we’ve launched a new feature on our school website. We’ve got an ‘Our Kitchen’ page. This page has wee bit of information about the kitchen, our current menu for school dinners &, most importantly, some of Holly the chef’s mouth-watering recipes! The first 3 recipes are available by following the link below (or going to the ‘Our Kitchen’ link on the homepage). Chicken korma is a real favourite with our pupils - Holly’s recipe is simple to make but totally delicious. Definitely a gateway dish to turn your children into lovers of curry – today korma – tomorrow vindaloo! Cheese whirls (another pupil favourite) & the much-loved ‘school cake’ (pink icing ‘n’all) are the other 2 recipes available – we will post more in the coming weeks & months.

I would like to thank everyone who has donated to BBC Children in Need or bought one of the Pudsey-themed goodies. The children have had a great time today bringing their ‘bears’ to school. Our Star of the Week assembly this afternoon was quite a sight – cuddly toys of all shapes & sizes: bountiful bears, dozens of dogs, a solitary ankylosaurus, mobs of cheeky monkeys, groups of grinning Gruffalos, squillions of squishmallows, a plethora of preening penguins, a warren’s worth of rabbits & teaching their padawans a couple of Yodas were. I’m sure I even saw a five-toed sloth at the back of the hall – although maybe that was just one of Y6 having a wee nap! We have raised £805.24 in support of this wonderful charity. Thank you.
Here’s this week’s ‘nudges’…

This week, our whole school attendance is 95.9% - our target is 97%. We have 0 classes with 100% attendance & we have 3 classes equalling or bettering 97%: Green Class (98.6%), Yellow Class (97.6%) & 5/6P (97.1%).
Not particularly good news with regards to punctuality this week. We had no classes where everyone turned up on time every day. We had 43 late mark across the whole school. 40 late mark were ‘before the register closed’ – that’s before 9.20am & 3 late marks ‘after the register has closed’, that’s after 9.20am.
I hope you all have a good weekend.

Last word
My dad really wanted me to make paper planes with him.
Eventually, I folded.
