A Message from Woodlands' House Captains
Dear Parents and Carers,
We would like to inform you that BBC Children in Need is on the Friday 18th November. The theme for this year will be: Rock ‘til You Drop! We have chosen this theme as there is a Times Tables Rock Stars event ‘England Rocks’ earlier in the same week.
We are raising money for BBC Children in Need as we know they will use the money raised wisely & we agree with their aims as a charity: Every child and young person deserves the opportunity to thrive and be the best they can be. At BBC Children in Need, we act where the need is greatest. Our ambition is to create positive and lasting change across the UK for the children and young people who need us most. Together with the BBC and our partners, we aim to inspire the nation and unite communities to support us in our work.
We kindly ask that you send your child to school dressed as a Rock Star. They could come as a famous rock or pop star, for example, Lady Gaga, John Lennon, Beyoncé, Harry Styles, Kurt Cobain, Angus Young, Elton John, Amy Winehouse – even Ziggy Stardust! Maybe your child will want to come dressed as their Times Tables Rock Stars avatar, a rock star from their imagination or even simply put on some shades & a leather jacket to make them look as cool as ice.
The whole school, from nursery to Y6, will be participating in this event.
Children are allowed to wear nail polish, have their hair down and wear jewellery but this must only be for the day. They must take the jewellery out if they have PE that day. No football kits.
On the day, all we ask is that you send in £1 per child, or £2 per family, to help us raise money for this wonderful charity.
From Monday 14th November, we will also be selling a range of BBC Children in Need goodies: headbands, wristbands & badges, etc. We will send details of how to buy these items nearer the time.
We look forward to seeing their amazing rock star outfits.
