Week commencing 31st October 2022
Date: 3rd Nov 2022 @ 3:54pm
During our outdoor learning session, we explored the different colours that we could see around us. We collected natural objects, such as leaves and twigs, and sorted them into sets according to their colour. Some of the leaves that we found had more than one colour on them and this prompted lots of discussion about which set they should belong in.
At home - What colours can you see around you? Can you sort a collection of objects, such as toys, pegs or beads, according to their colour? How else could you sort them?
This week we have been exploring some autumn vegetables. We investigated how they felt, smelt and what they looked like. We compared the weight, length and shape of the vegetables. After examining the outside of them, we cut them in half and looked closely at their insides too. We noticed that the inside of the vegetables looked very different from the outside.
At home - What vegetables do you like to eat? Can you describe how they look, feel, smell and taste?
We really enjoyed painting pictures of our pumpkins. We had to use our observational skills and look very closely at the shape and colour of them. We also noticed any markings or patterns the pumpkins had on them and tried to include these in our paintings. We think they look fantastic!
At home – Paint a picture. Think carefully about the shapes and colours you will need to use.
