Week commencing 17th October

Date: 20th Oct 2022 @ 8:57am

During our outdoor learning session, we explored the different sounds we could make using the natural objects that we found around us. We made lots of different types of sounds, including loud, quiet and soft ones.

Using twigs, pine cones, sticks and leaves, we explored tapping, patting, scraping, swishing and crunching.

At home – What sounds can you make using objects you find around your home? Can you make different sounds if you tap or shake your object? How could you make the sound louder or quieter?

This week we have carried on continuing and creating AB patterns. We loved making our own repeating patterns using the outdoor construction equipment. We also used autumn leaves, conkers and twigs to make our own autumnal patterns.

At home – Can you spot any patterns around you? Can you describe the pattern to your grown up?

We have been learning about houses and homes. We painted pictures and used solid shapes to build models of our houses. We thought very carefully about the different shapes that we needed and which ones balanced. We worked with our friends and used great teamwork to complete our fabulous models.

At home – Can you use blocks or materials around your home to build your house? Can you describe the shapes you used?
