Week commencing - 10/10/22

Date: 13th Oct 2022 @ 2:02pm

In maths this week the children have been looking at repeating patterns. We used coloured dogs to identify and then continue the pattern.

At home- Can you use some toys or objects from around your home to make some repeating patterns? Ask your grown up to make a pattern and see if you can copy it.

We have been focusing on developing our gross and fine motor skills to draw lines and circles. This will really help us as we develop our writing skills and begin to form letters. The children have been using chalk outside to draw circles on the wall.

At home- Have a dance to your favourite song (In class we have been enjoying “Spice Girls – Spice up your Life”). Concentrate on making lots of movements with your arms. You could start by doing some big circles with your arms, then go up and down, or side to side.

Some of the children have been building dens outside with Mr Anderson. The children worked together to plan their den and to manoeuvre large items to create their space.

At home – Can you make a den with your grown up? Maybe you could read your favourite story together in your den when it is finished.

The children have so much fun in our weekly Pilates sessions. We are so impressed at how well they can listen and follow instructions.

At home – Can you remember either of the special words that Mrs Sanderson uses instead of tummy in Pilates? (Core or abdominals)
