Week beginning 6th March

Date: 3rd Mar 2023 @ 8:46am

This week we are looking at other groups of people who help us. We will be writing riddles and trying to guess who they are. We will be focusing on writing in the first person and adding description to our writing. We will also be talking about dental hygiene and how we should brush our teeth as this is a focus for children in Reception. We will encourage children to brush models of teeth and talk about different food groups that are good and bad for our teeth.

At home you could talk to the children about brushing their teeth and focus on how important it is each morning and evening.

In mathematics we are measuring distance and time. We will be measuring how far we can throw objects in P.E. We will also be using mathematical langusge to describe time and events. We will be looking at ordering our school day, singing songs about days, months and seasons.

You could talk about what you do every morning before school and discuss the order. You could also extend this to after school.

We looked at how refuse workers help us. We sorted different materials in the sand area.

We set up a shop area in our maths section and talked about how shopkeepers help us. We also used our counting skills to handle money.
