Nursery Week Beginning 30th October 2023

Date: 19th Oct 2023 @ 4:15pm

This week we are starting our new theme - colours of the rainbow. We will name and explore colours, sort colours and also investigate colour mixing.

We will be exploring some autumn vegetables. We will investigate how they feel, smell and what they look like. We will compare their weight, length and shape. After examining the outside of the vegetables, we will cut them open and examine their insides too. We will paint and draw our observations as well as using lots of language to describe them.

We had great fun scooping out the insides of the pumpkins. We thought of lots of words to describe what we could see and feel.

At home - What vegetables do you like to eat? Can you describe how they look, feel, smell and taste?

We practised our fine motor skills by picking out the pumpkin seeds and tracing over the patterns on the pumpkin pictures.

We enjoyed making our own paper plate pumkins.

We are also going to be sorting and comparing groups of objects using the language 'more than' and 'fewer than.'  We will be looking closely at the different groups noticing what is the same and what is different.
