Nursery Week Beginning 1st July 2024

Date: 28th Jun 2024 @ 8:42am

This week, we will be learning about some of the different countries that are taking part in the Olympics. We will find out what the weather is like in these countries and about some of the different foods that are eaten there. We will also paint our own flags to celebrate each country.

We are going to read a new text  'Commotion in the Ocean' by Giles Andreae. We will talk about the creatures that live in the sea and we will find out some facts about them.

In maths this week, we will play some games using the language of position and direction. We will make up games for our friends using words such as 'under', 'above', 'next to', 'behind' and 'infront of.'

At home - Play a game involving hiding a toy. Can you give your grown up clues to find it using the language of postion and direction?

We have had great fun over the last few weeks with Mrs Falconer learning about the orchestra and some of the different percussion instruments.

At home - Perhaps you could have a go at making your own shaker instrument to play. You could fill a box with rice or dried peas. Can you play a rhythm?
