Mission Statement

Week beginning 17th October

Date: 14th Oct 2022 @ 4:14pm

This week we are reading 'The rainbow Fish'. We are focusing on feelings, friendships and how the character feels at the beginning and end. We will also be learning about how fish swim and live in the sea.

You could talk to your child about how they think fish breath under water. What they eat and if you have any pet fish you could send a picture in for us to share with the class.

We are going to be very creative with decorating our own fish. We will be using lots of collage materials, shiny materials and working collaboratively to make a large rainbow fish that we will all work on together, building on our communication and sharing skills.

We have worked hard on these printing. painting and collage activities.

In mathematics we will be making 3. We will be looking at how to goup objects, link our thinking to shape (triangles) and talking about addition and combining numbers.

At home you could read stories with 3 things in like The Three Bears, The Three Little Pigs and The Three Billy Goats Gruff.

In RWI phonic sessions we are continuing to learn set 1 sounds. We are recapping all the sounds we have covered so far: ma s d t i n p g o c k u b adn moving on to f e l h. We have been really impressed with the children this week during our writing part of the RWI sessions. They have all been writing simple CVC words like pot, sit and Map.
