Week beginning 12th December
Date: 12th Dec 2022 @ 12:16pm
This week we are going to be looking at another story about stars called 'Laura's Star'. We will talking about special qualitites in a friend and choosing friends that we feel are special to us and saying why. We will be writing short phrases to give reasons for our choices, concentrating on sounding out words phonetically and forming most letters correctly.
You could talk about friendships at home and why some people in our families are special to us too.
In mathematics we are revisiting and revising the work we have completed on numbers this half term. We will subitise, explore and notice the different compositions of the number 5. We will be focusing on the quick recall of number bonds and mark making to show addition bonds to 5.
You could make different groups of 5 with objects from around your home.
This week we are very excited to be performing our Christmas play 'Ralph the reindeer'. Can you guess some of the characters from our amazing costumes?
The performance has given the children an amazing opportunity to learn many new songs, learn to speak in a group and individually. They have proved to engaging actors and dancers too. We look forward to sharing our show with you on Wednesday morning.
We had a fabulous party and even had a visit from Father Christmas.
We watched Father Christmas read us a story on a live feed from Lapland. We listened carefully and asked questions about what he liked to eat. If it was cold in Lapland? How many elves he had working for him? What he wanted for Christmas himself?
