Reception- Week beginning 4th September 2024

Date: 6th Sep 2024 @ 4:38pm

Welcome to Reception

The children have all made a wonderful start to their Reception year. We have been very impressed with how settled and happy they have appeared in school. They have thoroughly immersed themselves in the new provision and have explored many new resources both indorrs and outdoors.

We are learning about ourselves this half term and the topic is called 'Super Me'. We will be looking at families and relationships. We would really like it if we could make our home corner very personal to the children and would love some photos of your child with their family that we can display and talk about. Please send them into school in the book bags.

We will be reading many wonderful books like 'Super Me', 'What Makes Me a Me?' 'The Colour Monster' and 'Elmer'. Many of these books encourage the children to talk and think about feelings. We will also be thinking about where we live, our school grounds and local area. We will be encouraging the children to look around them at their local environment and what are the main features of Formby.

You could help at home by lloking through family photos, going on walks around the local area and visiting the village.
