Reception-Week beginning 30th September

Date: 27th Sep 2024 @ 10:19am

We hope that you will be able to join us for the early reading information evening on Monday at 5pm.

This week we will be reading a new book called Superkid. The children will be encouraged to join in with the story and rhyming phrases. We will be using the book to make links to Expressive Arts and will be printing using different vegetables. Wwe will be talking about the way that we can use vegetables for different purposes. We will link this to healthy eating and using a knife and fork.

You could encourage your child to use a knife and fork at home and try different vegetables in different ways. You could also read nursery rhymes and rhyming stories to your child and see if they can tell you the words that rhyme.

In mathematics we are learning how to compare mass, size and capacity. We will be looking at balance scales and exploring how to use them in provision.

You could help at home by looking at the capacity of different boxes and bottles.
