Reception- Week beginning 22nd January

Date: 18th Jan 2024 @ 4:55pm

This week we are learning about animals that hibernate through a story calls 'The Bear Snores on'. We will be learning about why they hibernate, how and when they settle down for winter and when they wake up. We will be creating pictures about bears, collaging woodland scenes using different materials. We will be writing short phrases about bears to describe what they are like. We will be learning lots of interesting facts and looking at non-fiction texts and e books.

You could talk about animals that hibernate to your child at home and maybe write a list of all those that they can remember.

In mathematics we will be weighing objects. We will be developing language linked to weighing such as heavier, lighter and same as.
