Reception- Week beginning 20th May

Date: 16th May 2024 @ 2:15pm

This week we are continuing to look at different things that grow. We will be studying how caterpillars and chicks grow. We will be comparing the different life cycles with ones that we have already been learning about and noting similarities and differences.

You could listen to and read the story 'The very hungry caterpillar'.

We are using different creative materials to print patterns and make decorative butterfly wings. We will be encouraging the children to be independent in their approaches and choose their own materials.

In mathematics we are continuing to manipulate and use shapes. We will be focusing on rotating shapes to compose and decompose new shapes and pictures. We will be using the correct names for 2D and 3D shapes and the differences between them.

You could help at home by finding and naming 2D and 3D shapes in your environment.
