Reception-Week Beginning 19th June 2023

This week we are planning our own stories based on 'The girl and the Dinosaur'. We will be thinking about the beginning, middle and ending and what happens in each part. We are really looking forward to designing our own magical land that we can go to in a dream with our favourite dinosaur.

You could talk to your child about what dinosaur they might choose and why? What is it like? How does it move? How will they travel on it?

In mathematics we will be talking about 2D shapes and focussing on spational reasoning. We will be making pictures with shapes and rotating them to fit together. We will try making dinosaurs with shapes and see how similar they look to images of real dinosaurs.

You could look around your home and local environment for 2D shapes. Can your child name them?
