Reception- Week beginning 18th November

This half term our topic is 'Let's Celebrate'. This topic looks at lots of different festivals that we celecrate from Bonfire night to Diwali. The children love learning about different cultures and traditions and it flows nicely into our Christmas celebrations. The children learn historical facts when we look at the Houses of Parliment and King James. During Diwali we look at  where and how Hindu's celebrate the festival around the world, focusing on countries and looking at maps. We make links to festivals that we celebrate in this country and talk about similarities and differences. 

You could help at home by talking about how you celebrate Bonfire night, what you do for Remembrance day and how you prepare to celebrate Christmas.
