Date: 9th May 2024 @ 5:05pm

For the next 2 weeks we are looking at Life Cycles of plants and animals. We will be focussing on looking at non-fiction books, their layout and how to extract information. We will be learning about the life cycle of a frog, This will involve us drawing, ordering and writing facts to explain the different stages.

You could help at home by talking to your child about different animals and the life cycles they go through. You could talk to them about the caterpillars that we have in the classroom. What do they look like? What will happen next? What will they turn into?

In mathematics we are learning to manipulate 2D shapes, rotate, compose and decompose different shapes. We will be revisiting our previous learning on shape names and properties.

You could help at home by talking about how many sides and corners different shapes have. You could name the shapes and see if they fit together or tesselate.

We will doing lots of our learning outdoors this week as we want the children to explore their local environment, look for signs of growth and talk about insects and their homes.
