Reception- Week beginning 12th June 2023

Date: 8th Jun 2023 @ 5:35pm

This week we will be listening to a wonderful story about dinosaurs and fossils called 'The Girl and the Dinosaur'. It is a really descriptive book that we are hoping will stimulate the children to place themselves in the story and write about what they would be able to see, hear, smell and feel. Last week the children all rose to the challenge to write dinosaur facts and descriptions and we are sure that their super independent writing will continue this week.

Mr Williams was very impressed and gave some children a Head Teacher's Award. Well done!

The children are becoming very knowledgeable about pre-historic times. You could ask them some facts about dinosaur. How can we tell what they ate? When did they live? What has happened to them? How do we know about dinosaurs today?

This week we are making our own volcanos and one may even errupt! We will be using paper-mache and paint adn will post our finished creations on here next week.

We looked at fossils and then used pasta to recreate the bones and piece them together just like a paleontologist does. We have displayed them in our classroom.
