Nursery Week Beginning 4th March 2024

Date: 29th Feb 2024 @ 12:17pm

Continuing our topic of Healthy Me, we are going to read the story 'The Tiny Seed' by Eric Carle. We will plant our own seeds and talk about how to look after them.

We will observe them as they grow and discuss any changes that we can see.

We planted some potatoes in our outdoor classroom and some cress seeds. We can't wait for them to grow!

At home - Perhaps you could plant some seeds. What will you plant and how will you care for them?

On a beautiful sunny morning, we went for a walk around our school grounds looking for signs of spring. We noticed lots of changes including daffodils and snowdrops growing and some new buds on the trees and bushes.

In maths, we are going to look closely at numbers within 4. We will use our subitising skills to say small quantities and we will use our reasoning skills to make sets of different quantities.

We had great fun making and exploring gloop. At first, it seemed solid to the touch and could be moulded in our hands. Then it seemed to melt and dripped through our fingers.

On World Book Day, we enjoyed sharing books with children from Year 4.
