Nursery Week Beginning 3rd March 2025

Date: 27th Feb 2025 @ 11:56am

This week, we will continue to read the story ‘Dear Zoo’ focusing on adjectives to describe each of the animals. We will practise our fine motor and mark making skills by drawing pictures of our favourite zoo animals.

At home – Think of some words that would describe your pet or your favourite animal. You could play a guessing game and describe your animal using some different words. Can your grown up guess which animal you are describing?

On pancake Tuesday, we made and tasted pancakes. They were delicious!

During our outdoor learning session, we made shelters for the animals. We had to think very carefully about what the animals would need in their shelter. We made shelters with roofs using grass and twigs and some even had cosy beds in them!

In maths, we are going to look closely at the numbers within 4. We will use our subitising skills to say small quantities and we will use our reasoning skills to make sets of different quantities. For example, we may make 4 by making 2 sets of 2 or we make 3 by making a set of 2 and a set of 1.

Our rhyme of the week is Down at the Station.

Can you sing it to your grown up?

On World Book Day, we came to school wearing our cosy, comfy clothing. We enjoyed listening to our favourite stories while eating Holly's cookies.

It was a special treat when Year 3 came to read to us.
