Nursery week Beginning 3rd June 2024

Date: 23rd May 2024 @ 3:31pm

This week we are starting our new theme 'Under the Sea.' We will begin by reading the Hawaiian traditional tale 'Maui Hooks the Islands.'   We will talk about the characters and the setting of the story.

In our creative area, we will explore texture and make our own islands and ocean using papier mache.

In maths, we will link our learning about water and explore the capacity of a variety of different size and shape containers. We will predict which container we think will hold the least/ most and test our predictions by directly comparing and pouring water from one container to the other. We will use the language 'holds more', 'holds less', 'full' and 'empty'.

At home - Find some different shaped containers. Which do you think holds the most water? How could you find out?
