Nursery Week Beginning 3rd February 2025

This week we are going to continue to read the story The Magic Porridge Pot. We will order pictures from the story and use the pictures to help us to retell it. 

At home - Can you retell the story of The Magic Porridge Pot?

This week is Mental Health Week. We will be talking about ourselves and the things that we are good at. This will lead into discussions about what makes us special.

In maths, we are continuing to focus on numbers within 5 with a special focus on the number 3. We will match quantities to numerals, use our subitising skills to say amounts to 3 without counting and also explore shapes with 3 sides.

At home - Can you use your subitising skills to spot amounts to 3 in pictures or around your house?

Our nursery rhyme of the week this week is Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear.

Can you teach it to your grown up?

After reading the story The Magic Porridge Pot and singing our bubbling porridge song, we enjoyed making and tasting our own porridge. It was yummy!

We had great fun pouring, scooping and tipping the porridge oats.
