Nursery Week Beginning 27th November 2023

Date: 23rd Nov 2023 @ 4:09pm

This week we are reading the whole school book 'An Emotional Menagerie Feelings from A  - Z.'  We will focus on the words  'happiness' and 'anger.' Whilst reading the poems in the book, we will talk about the meaning of the words and we will make a list of things that make us feel happy and things that make us feel angry. We will also discuss what we can do to calm ourselves down when we are feeling angry.

At home - What makes you feel happy? What makes you feel angry?

In maths we are going to practise our counting and super subitising skills, recognising representations of 1,2 and 3. We will also begin to understand that, when counting, the last number said is the total number in the group.

At home -  Practise your counting skills by helping around the house. For example, could you get the right amount of knives and forks to set the table?

On a frosty morning we arrived at Nursery to find that our dinosaurs were stuck in the ice. We had to work hard to scrape and break the ice in order to free them.

We made frosty hand and foot prints.

On Friday, we discussed advent and what it means. We talked about how we get ready for Christmas and we decorated our Nursery Christmas tree.
