Nursery - Week Beginning 23rd September 2024

Date: 19th Sep 2024 @ 12:07pm

This week, we are going to read 'The Colour Monster' by Anna Llenas. We will talk about our feelings and how we feel at different times.

We will talk about the different colours and how they make us feel. We will say what makes us feel happy and what makes us feel upset. We will also discuss times when we have felt angry and we will talk about things that we can do to make ourselves feel better.

We used natural loose parts to make our own emotion faces.

At home - Can you remember what happens in the story 'The Colour Monster?' Can you tell your family about it?

In maths, we will sing some counting songs and play lots of counting games. We are also going to sort some objects in a variety of ways and talk about our choices.

At home - Can you sort some of your toys in different ways? You may want to sort them according to size, colour or shape. Tell your grown up about your choices.

During our outdoor learning session, we looked for signs of autumn. We noticed the different colours that we could see and collected lots of autumn leaves. We made our own autumn leaf hedgehogs.

In class, we looked carefully at some acorns and conkers that had been found and put them in our autumn collection.
