Nursery Week Beginning 13th January 2025

This week we are beginning our new theme - Happily Ever After. We will begin by reading the traditional tale The Three Little Pigs. We will retell the story using pictures and puppets and we will draw and paint some of the characters in the story.

We enjoyed using a variety of materials to make the different houses for the three pigs.

At home - Can you talk about the story of The Three Little Pigs?

In maths, we are going to concentrate on the numbers 1 to 3. We will begin by focusing on the number one. We will introduce the 5 frame and put one object on it, noticing how many spaces are filled and how many spaces are empty. Spotting patterns like this will help us to begin to recognise number bonds to 5.

Our rhyme of the week is Five Little Men in a Flying Saucer. Can you practise singing it at home?
