Nursery Week Beginning 11th November 2024
Date: 7th Nov 2024 @ 3:34pm
This week, we are going to read the traditional tale Little Red Riding Hood. We will look at the setting of the story and the characters within it. We will discuss what each character is like and we will draw and paint some of the characters in the story.
At home - Can you talk about the story of Little Red Riding Hood? Can you tell your family about some of the characters in it?
In maths, we are continuing to compare the size of different groups of objects, noticing when one group has more than another and when two groups are equal. We are also going to compare the size of different objects using the language 'bigger than' and 'smaller than.' We will begin to order a set of objects by size.
At home - Can you compare some of your toys at home? Which are bigger? Which are smaller? Can you order some toys from smallest to biggest?
We had great fun investigating sets of nesting dolls and ordering them by size.
After discussing the autumn colours that we could see, we made our own autumn tree by dropping coloured water onto cotton pad leaves. We discussed the different colours and what happened when we mixed the colours.
After exploring a selection of autumn vegetables, we used them to print autumn pictures.
This week we had a special visit from Pudsey Bear and Steel the gladiator.
On Friday, we held an own clothes day for BBC Children in Need.
We all enjoyed taking part in the Children in Need obstacle course set up by the house captains. It was great fun!
