Nursery Week Beginning 10th March 2025

Date: 6th Mar 2025 @ 4:18pm

This week we will be using our coding skills to program Beebot (a small floor robot) around the zoo. We will use the commands turn, left, right, forwards and backwards to make sure that Beebot gets to see all the animals.

At home - Do you have any electronic toys? How do you turn it on/ off? What else can you make it do?

We are also going to be make up our own stories based on the book Dear Zoo. We will think carefully about what each animal looks like and adjectives that describe them.

At home – Draw your favourite animal. What does it look like?  Can you think of some words to describe it?

Our rhyme this week is Yankee Doodle. We are going to be listening carefully for rhyming words and playing lots of games that involve rhyme.

At home - Can you spot any rhyming words in your stories?

In maths, we are going to be exploring numbers within 5. We will match numerals to quantities and practise finding 5 around our environment. We will place quantities within 5 onto a 5 frame, noticing how many spaces are filled and how many are empty.

On Friday, we enjoyed taking part in the Spring Inter-House Cross Country Event. It was great fun and we had a well-deserved rest after!
